At Bestchoice Global we 0ffer a very robust 24 Hours Support to the following:

  • Transition Services to 16 – 18 years old and a Step Up To Independence Service to 17 – 18 years old.
  • People with Mental Health Issues and learning disabilities to live independently in the community.

Our supported living services are within a thriving multi-cultural environment with good links of transport, community facilities and nearby shops.

Bestchoice Global Houses are designed to provide good home atmosphere so that tenants can enjoy a high quality of life, whether long or short term, in a friendly environment where they are safe, stimulated, comfortable and happy.

We envision to provide personalised support and work in partnership with their families, individuals, social care and health colleagues to ensure that their health and quality of life reached its potential.

Who can we support?

Our service is primarily aimed to provide services:

  • Transition Services to 16 – 18 years old and a Step Up To Independence Service to 17 – 18 years old.
  • People with Mental Health Issues and learning disabilities to live independently in the community.

We expect many potential tenants to be referred by Social Services or Community.

Rent levels are geared to be met from within Housing Benefit levels for single people and support is competitively priced with each package of support tailored for each individual.

We accept private funders, personal budget holders of social services/health funded referrals.

Our Commitment

Best Choice are committed to providing accommodation which aims to meet the needs of all our service user. We will always meet the following requirements: 

  • Each accommodation will comprise of single gender shared housing (unless otherwise directed by the placing authority) with each person having his or her own bedroom.
  • To ensure that the living accommodation is fully equipped to meet the requirements of service user, including on-site laundry facilities and a communal living area with TV.
  • All living areas, communal areas and bedrooms will be inspected on a regular basis to ensure accommodation rules are being complied with.
  • To ensure all accommodation meets with health and safety standards and recommended environmental health standards, including the installation of mains, smoke alarms, fire regulated furnishings and safety locks.
  • To make sure each property contains pictured emergency evacuation procedures and details of emergency contact numbers.
  • To ensure that all gas supply and gas appliances have been inspected and certificated by a CORGI gas registered engineer.
  • To acquire a valid NIC I EIC certificate in respect of the electrical supplying each property.
  • Ensure that all inspections will include an examination of appliances for damage that is likely to be of a hazardous nature and likely to cause injury.
  • Each house is furnished and maintained to very high standards. There are usually five/six bedrooms and two bathrooms situated on the ground and first floor, a communal lounge, kitchen, utility room and garden. Some bedrooms contain on-suite facilities.
  • All service user within our care will have bedrooms that are comfortable and neutral. We do not permit painting or major redecorating of personal spaces but welcome the use of pictures and fixtures to encourage the service user to make their personal space their own.
  • The communal areas are fully furnished to create a comfortable, friendly space. The service users are encouraged to use this area to promote interaction and socialising. A T.V. is situated in each of the lounge areas within each house.

Services and facilities at the properties include:

  • Pre-admission holistic assessment to determine individual needs
  • Specialist, expert care and therapies for a range of conditions.
  • Individual support programmes with key workers assigned to each individual
  • Experienced person-centred, outcome focused care/support planning, reviewed and flexed according to need
  • Staff cover designed by the needs of tenants– safety in mind but no under or overstaffing
  • An adaptable and flexible approach
  • Facilities and support for cooking and other activities of daily living
  • Well-kept internal and external spaces
  • Private, personalised space, respected
  • Assistive technology, if beneficial
  • Access to external health care services as needed, including GPs, Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech Therapy, Psychiatrists, Dental and Nursing services etc.
  • Access to local places of worship, leisure/shopping facilities and good transport links

Activities

We expect people to influence our programme of assistance according to their likes, dislikes and preferences but we would offer such activities as:

  • Attending local community events
  • Attending classes/learning opportunities
  • Improving shopping and cooking skills
  • Improving budget and financial management
  • Individual hobbies such as gardening or arts and crafts
  • Volunteering
  • Improving employment prospects through support, enhanced skills and helping with application/interview
  • Help with moving on to self-contained accommodation, if required.
